Zacharia Facaros, DPM, is originally from Oakmont, Pennsylvania, a suburb of Pittsburgh, and obtained his doctor’s degree from the New York College of Podiatric Medicine after completing a bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Franklin and Marshall College in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. He completed his podiatric internship and surgical residency at Fountain Valley Regional Hospital and Medical Center in Fountain Valley, California, gaining a comprehensive background in foot and ankle care, surgery, and reconstructive procedures.

Dr. Facaros sought further training and ultimately went on to complete a one-year fellowship focused on diabetic foot and ankle reconstructive surgery, Charcot deformity correction, and soft tissue coverage of the diabetic foot. He was under the tutelage of mentor Dr. Thomas Zgonis, DPM, FACFAS, at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. During his fellowship, he held an academic position as a clinical instructor within the Division of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery, Department of Orthopaedics, and maintained an active role in teaching podiatric students and residents while also participating in clinical research. He has lectured and also co-authored numerous articles and book chapters in the field of reconstructive foot and ankle surgery.

Dr. Facaros is dedicated to all facets of foot and ankle care while holding a special interest in pathologies relating to the diabetic foot and ankle. He is accepting new patients at multiple locations in and around the Chicagoland area.
