Stephanie Spiegel
Chief Operating Officer

Stephanie Spiegel serves as Chief Operating Officer of the Weil Foot & Ankle Institute.

She brings to this position extensive experience in healthcare management, hospital and physician practice management. Stephanie is responsible for the Institute’s operations.

Formerly, Stephanie served as President and Chief Operating Officer of the Neurologic & Orthopedic Hospital of Chicago, the only acute care hospital in the U.S. focused exclusively on neurosurgical, neuromedical and orthopedic services.

Stephanie has a B.S. and M.A. from Jacksonville University, Florida. She is a member of the Illinois Chamber of Commerce and serves as a Commissioner for the Greater Ravenswood Special Service Area #31, the Ravenswood Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. She is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE). She is also a recognized national speaker on customer service and network development.

Cecilia Coppney
Clinical Manager

Cecilia Coppney is Clinical Manager for Weil Foot & Ankle Institute. Cecilia and her family moved to the Chicago area in 2008. Cecilia attended University of South Carolina where she pursued a Nursing degree and specialized in Ophthalmology.

Prior to joining the Weil Foot & Ankle Institute, Cecilia was the Practice Director for Eye Physicians and Surgeons in Columbia, South Carolina.

In her spare time Cecilia loves to spend time with family and friends. She enjoys football, baseball, and attending concerts.

Lindsay Zimmerman
Collections Manager

Lindsay Zimmerman is Front Desk Co-Manager of the Weil Foot & Ankle Institute. She is thrilled to be working alongside her sister in managing our staff of patient services professionals and providing outstanding service to our many patients.

Building on her work history in customer service, Lindsay joined our front desk staff in 2004 and has worked in a number of our satellite offices as well as our flagship location in Des Plaines. She is a dedicated team leader and team player who never hesitates to jump in and provide assistance wherever she can. In her spare time, Lindsay enjoys classic TV including MASH and spending time with her friends and family.

Michele L. Zimmerman
Collections Manager

Michele L. Zimmerman is Front Desk Co-Manager for the Weil Foot & Ankle Institute. Ms. Zimmerman graduated with an Associates Degree in the Arts from Elgin Community College in 2001. Ms. Zimmerman also attended Bradley University located in Peoria, IL where she studied Chemistry, and Eastern Illinois University located in Charleston, IL where she studied Journalism and Communications.

Prior to joining the Weil Foot & Ankle Institute team, Ms. Zimmerman was associated with a small roofing company located in Lake Zurich, IL. For the short time she was with them, Ms. Zimmerman gained knowledge and experience in sales, customer service, and reception. Among many projects assigned, she also had the opportunity to help organize and set up the new location in Kenosha, WI.

Since joining the Weil Foot & Ankle Institute in November 2002, Ms. Zimmerman has excelled, finding her niche in the healthcare industry. Starting out in the patient services department, she began gaining the knowledge and experience that would help her throughout. In April of 2005, she accepted the position of Assistant Manager of Patient Services, thus the beginning of her commitment to providing staff with the necessary tools to succeed in providing the best possible service to our patients. In May of 2006, Ms. Zimmerman accepted the position of Manager of Patient Services. With the experience gained in the Patient Services Department, in July of 2007 she was asked to apply her knowledge and experience to the Billing Department as Assistant Manager of Billing. Ms. Zimmerman was able to use her vast knowledge of the practice to improve interdepartmental relations and gained valuable experience conducting research on new and up-and-coming policies set forth by different insurance companies. In August 2008, she accepted the position of Collections Manager, along with Letitia Lohman, Billing Manager. After returning to the Front Desk to manage alongside her sister Lindsay, Michele’s Billing background has allowed her to become the Front Desk’s Billing Specialist, answering patient questions when they come in to the office. Even with her many tasks and responsibilities, Ms. Zimmerman is always willing to help in any way she can. Her approachability and positive, witty attitude have made her an asset to Weil Foot & Ankle Institute.

Letitia D. Lohman
Billing Manager

Letitia D. Lohman is Billing Manager for Weil Foot & Ankle Institute. Letitia attended National-Louis University where she pursued a Bachelors of Arts degree in Business Administration and Marketing.

Prior to joining the Weil Foot & Ankle Institute, Letitia was associated with a podiatry practice in Evanston, IL for over 7 years. During her time with this practice, Letitia performed a multitude of tasks with vast responsibilities. She worked the front desk including scheduling and reception to clinical areas to credentialing, charge entry and collections on the back end. Letitia’s interest in medical back end systems significantly enhanced her knowledge on CPT and ICD9 coding, charge entry, and billing. Also, her knowledge of how insurance companies work, including credentialing doctors and other providers with government and private insurance companies flourished.

In June 2007, Letitia became a vital part of the Weil Foot & Ankle Institute team as a medical biller confirming surgical patient’s benefits along with surgical charge entry and claim auditing. In August 2008 she was promoted to Billing Manager for Weil Foot & Ankle Institute. With her vast knowledge of credentialing, coding, and billing, she has quickly become a great asset to the entire Weil Foot & Ankle Institute team. Her knowledge and ability to jump in and proactively help out in all types of situations to solve problems or improve tasks constantly allows her to bring many newly developed transformations and functions to the billing department.

In her spare time she loves to spend time with family and friends. She enjoys reading and watching movies.

Dave Chatterjee
MRI Technologist-Manager

Dave Chatterjee leads all aspect of MR Imaging at Weil Foot & Ankle Institute. He also overlooks our Gait Analysis system and its research outputs.

Dave is Bachelor’s Graduate in Business Administration and is also a Certified Medical Assistant (A.A.M.A) as a Phi Theta Kappa scholar and National Dean’s Honor Roll graduate.

He now lives in Palatine who enjoys fishing, cooking, wood-carving, visiting National Parks and playing with MRI protocols at work.

Thomas Joniak
Office and Systems Manager

As Office and Systems Manager, Tom is responsible for the office network, including hardware, software, and phone systems for all offices & locations. He particularly enjoys working with databases and is excited about the possibilities that virtualization technologies may bring to the practice.

Tom has been employed at Weil Foot & Ankle Institute since February 2001, first as a receptionist, then as Front Desk Manager, and now as Office and Systems Manager.

Before and during his employment at Weil Foot & Ankle Institute, Tom has also worked at four record stores, and enjoys record collecting.

Tom received his Bachelor’s of Science in Business Administration from the University of Illinois at Chicago in 2000, and is working toward receiving his Master’s in Medical Informatics from Northwestern University.
