Podiatry is a daily passion of mine. The profession provides the ability to encounter and treat many different types of injuries and conditions of the foot and ankle through medical and surgical modalities. This dichotomy is the reason I love podiatry.
About Dr. Baker

Dr. Jeffrey Baker is a Partner Physician at the Weil Foot & Ankle Institute. Originally from Albany, NY, Dr. Baker moved to Chicago in 2003. He is a 1992 graduate of Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts, with a degree in Athletic Training and Cardiovascular Health and Exercise. While there, he also played 4 years of varsity soccer. In 2000, graduated from the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine in Cleveland, Ohio. He completed a three-year reconstructive foot and ankle surgery residency at St. Mary Hospital in Hoboken, New Jersey in 2003, followed by a one-year fellowship in reconstructive foot and ankle surgery at the Weil Foot & Ankle Institute in Des Plaines, Illinois. Dr. Baker has been in private practice at the Weil Foot & Ankle Institute since 2003. His special areas of interest are sports medicine and foot and ankle trauma, with particular expertise in treating running and soccer related injuries. He is the Podiatry Co-coordinator for the Bank of America Chicago Marathon and Bank of America Shamrock Shuffle. Prior to becoming a podiatric physician, Dr. Baker spent four years as the athletic trainer at Westwood High School in Westwood, Massachusetts. While working as an athletic trainer, Dr. Baker treated a large number of foot and ankle athletic injuries and subsequently decided to pursue a career in podiatry. Dr. Baker and his wife Jessica love to travel and enjoy their neighborhood with their son Tyler. Dr. Baker continues to play competitive soccer for Green White Soccer Club in Mt. Prospect, Illinois for the Over 48 team.
